| Holger and Laarni met the first time in Hong Kong in 2002. They did a spiritual training and were part of an outreach team. After their marriage in 2003 they moved to Manila, the Capital of the Philippines, to work among children in slum areas. Their vision is, that children of all ages learn to know Jesus and become disciples of him. Then trough the children also their parents and other relatives should hear the good news and finally gather together as churches. To care for street children, giving them love and a sense of life, is another aspect of their vision. Right now Holger and Laarni are running 3 different bible study groups for children of different age within a slum of Manila. They organize festivals for the children and are working on the aim to build up trustful relations to the parents. A discipleship training for children between 11 and 14 years of age is in preparation, and so is the extension of the ministry to a second slum. |
