Up to now I have taken care of the IN.touch ministry on a part time basis in so far as my office work duties for Globe Europe have allowed it. From November 2007 the ministry will have my full time and attention and my work for Globe Europe will then move into my “spare time”. This is a step of faith for us financially in that without a salary we will be totally dependent on our ministry supporters. So far we have not sent any IN.touch missionaries from Germany or Europe to India. However the first European missionary is now getting ready to work in the new children’s home in Barang, high up in the Himalayas.
The mission to children in the Himalayan mountains as well as in the leper colonies in south India has “by chance” brought fruit among unreached people groups. Now IN.touch will start a mission work that is dedicated to the unreached people groups in south India, such as the Paniyans and Irulas. In the past I went to India with groups for a maximum of two weeks, mainly to support the work in prayer, but now my presence in India will be required more often. The set-up of permanent support for house churches cannot be done from a distance. The pastors and house group leaders and their wives need personal guidance and help. The children’s work needs an organisation that helps to ensure that sponsors receive regular updates.
We have been working together so far with two local leaders, but the local team needs to be expanded. An experienced local leader who is presently setting up and managing a children’s home is offering his services to us.
We cannot and do not want to stop sending out short-term missionary teams. Teams with the authority to take the land for the Lord in prayer, to share the love of Jesus with the native people in a completely new way, and to support local leaders through prayer and teaching, are such a blessing.
Thank you for your support!
