IN.touch serves children of poor families in the Himalayan mountains through: - good education in schools
– provision of meals
– proclaiming the love of Jesus
Everything is done with the goal of setting up independent Christian schools and churches with help from other countries.

In the rural areas of the Himalayan mountains there are almost no nursery schools, which are called “balvadis” in India. Attendance at these pre-schools is however a condition for acceptance in a normal day school. In the meantime five balvadis have been set up, in Pippulghat, Nainatikker, Dharampur, Dadahu und Arki. Two of these balvadis have already been handed over to local workers. The local house churches (now over 300) take responsibility for the financing of the balvadis in their area. Many children are now going to school and this would not have been possible without first attending a balvadi.
House churches generally comprise 3-4 families (5 -20 people), who meet in a home to study God’s Word, to worship God, to intercede in prayer and to share one another’s joys and burdens. The leaders are taught in training centres and are integrated into a leadership team. There are no church buildings. There are however regular meetings of all the house groups in a region, called celebrations, that take place in the open air.
