22.09.08 Prayer Request for Persecuted Christians |
Dear Prayer Warriors,
These days the anti Christian activities are raising up in India like never before. The body of Christ is in tears facing drastic persecution. As of now there are about 100 pastors and believers were killed by Hindu activists. This persecution started on 23rd August when 5 Hindu babas (priests) where killed by a terrorist group called Vamsadhara. The Hindu fanatics accused Christians of these deaths and began a mass massacre of believers and Pastors and demolishing church buildings all over the state of Orissa.
The persecution started in Phulvani district and spread all over Orissa. The terrorist group repeatedly claimed responsibility for the killing of those 5 babas. Even today (15-9-2008) the mentioned terrorist group stated that they have plans to kill more Hindu radicals.
But the Hindu fanatics are still accusing Christians for this and heavily persecuting the body of Christ. We heard that the Hindu fanatics are planning to kill many more Pastors in the next few hours in Orissa. Now many Christians are hiding in refugee camps in the jungles. Hindu fanatics are also forcing the Christians to convert to Hinduism and are threatening to kill them if they don't convert.
So we urge the body of Christ around the world to stand with these persecuted Christians in Orissa, India with powerful intercession that the strongholds of the devil will be pulled down and the Church will resurrect in the midst of persecution with unity and resoluteness in prayer.
