I (now 34) was born and grew up in Switzerland. I am currently preparing for my departure and will continue working until the end of December 2008 as a housekeeper in a nursing group home for patients suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's. Before that, I worked for several years in home nursing care and housekeeping. Working with people has always been a source of great joy for me.
In 1995 I was confronted with the subject of mission for the first time during a short-term trip to Asia. The weeks spent there changed my life and had a profound effect on me. I began to ask God what kind of plan he had for my life and he soon put a specific country on my heart. In the years that followed I often visited that country and took part in various short-term mission trips. In order to prepare for ministry, I attended Bible school at the Glaubenszentrum in Bad Gandersheim from 2002 to 2005. There God laid a deep foundation of faith, and my concern for the nations grew, especially for peoples who are unreached by the gospel. The following two years on the staff served to strengthen my vision further.
Many people in Central Asia have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ. My vision is to make Christ known among the nations and to reach unreached people by training and educating believers who will then go to these people. My first steps will be to go myself and live among unreached people groups in Asia and get to know the language and culture. My aim is to establish a Bible and training school where I will then work so that capable harvest workers can be trained and sent out for the love of God to be preached among the nations.
In January 2009 I am flying to Australia to improve my English. After that I will travel directly to the country of my heart and start learning the language. | |
