I am Renate Fast, 29 years old and have been living in Germany for 20 years.
I was born in Kaukasus, Russia, near by the Black Sea.
As a child I loved to read books about missionaries and wrote letters to different one of them. I wanted to become a missionary in Brasil when I would grow up.
First I studied to become a laboratory technician, and worked for 7 years in my Job. I always had the desire to work more for and with children in my daily worktime, then the possibility I had to work beside my Job with the Royal Rangers in Aachen. In my Job as a laboratory technician I had to work Shifts and Weekends, so there were not a lot of time to do other things. So I decided to cancel my job in 2007 to do a Discipleship Training School in YWAM. During this time God confirmed my long year desire to work fulltime in missions.
In the past I have done 2 Shortterm Missiontrips with a total time of 1 ½ years, where I had the opportunity to get a better unterstanding about missions.
In November 2008 I will leave for Costa Rica, where I will get more prepared for missionary work during the first year. There I will work with Youth with a Mission, learn spanish and participate in a seminary with the theme „Working with Children from difficult backgrounds“. |
