George and Mary Alexander live in Dunfermline, Scotland. They have four children. George and Mary pastored Liberty Church in Dunfermline from 1985 until 1997, when George was released to a teaching responsibility, both at home and further afield. This changed role has recently come to a clearer definition with the launch of a new teaching ministry called, "Artios Ministries".
George and Mary were commissioned by the Church and "sent out" to this ministry in October 2003. Unlike more conventional missions, the sending is not geographical (that is, not to a particular country) but rather to take and send teaching from the Word of God far and wide using modern technology and through a network of relationships.
George teaches each week in Destiny College, a Bible and Christian leadership school based in Destiny Church (formerly Covenant Life) in Glasgow. In April of 2004, he began Artios School of Theology, a three-year part-time training programme based initially in Dunfermline. In addition, he writes a monthly teaching e-mail under the title "Body Builders", which has a growing circulation. Plans include setting up training centres in various locations, establishing a network of correspondence courses, more writing, expanding the present teaching tapes to more sets and making them available as CDs, developing the web site www.artios.org.uk, and generally getting the Word out by all means. | |
