Welcome to our homepage and thank you very much for your interest. We hope you enjoy reading it.
David was born in a village near Kakamega in West Kenya and was raised with twelve siblings as a nominal Christian. In his early 20’s he made a decision for Jesus. After his high school graduation he worked among several missionaries, led a church, and taught at elementary schools. In 1997 he joined “The Challenge,” a program working with street children in the slums of the capital Nairobi and supported Rick and Cheri Thompson in the opening of the branch in Kitale in North-West Kenya.
Gabi was raised with a Protestant/Baptist background and made a decision for Jesus at the age of six. At nine she felt called to Africa. During the course of her youth, God confirmed her calling. As a nurse she went to Augsburg in 1989 and attended Harvest Bible College for three years. For two years she served as an operating-room nurse on a Mercy Ship of Youth with a Mission. 1994-7 she supported the project “The Challenge” in Nairobi, Kenya. She spent the following three years back at the Globe Center to complement the home staff as a secretary.
We got to know each other here. In order to lay a strong foundation for our marriage we decided to come back to Germany. David learned the German language and culture here and got his driver’s license. We then went to Bible College for two years. Another 2 years we worked at the Globe Center with an emphasis on working among foreign nationals and church planting as well as practical jobs in- and outdoors. Then we were ready to go again, now as a family with 3 sons: Joel, Jonathan and Jeremias.
Since December 2006 back in Kenya, we want to build an international team, and work in South Sudan based out of Kenya. There are still many unreached people groups in this area and many people uprooted by the Civil War need spiritual, emotional, and practical help in order to build a foundation for life in their country again. We will work with children and youth. The main objective will be to equip young people so that they themselves can reach their country with the gospel. | |
