Since he was 17 Thomas had the desire to go into full-time ministry. He therefore decided to attend Bible College in preparation. He reckoned that his calling was pastoral. After completing Bible College, he clearly sensed God’s voice telling him to stay in Berlin. He waited for God’s explicit guidance.
During his time in Berlin, he worked with youth, in cell group ministry, and on an evangelism team. While studying, he began reading books about street children. To discover whether or not this could be God’s call for his future, he completed several outreaches to Brazil with YWAM, during which this calling was confirmed. In this time, a pastor with whom he had developed a good relationship throughout his visits to Brazil, offered him to come work as a missionary in the church at Contagem. As this matched what he had envisioned, they soon reached an agreement.
Since February 2001, he has been Contagem. This is also where he met Soraia, whom he married in September of 2002. As their first joint ministry, they plan to build a youth work. | |
