Olaf and Iby Lippold, parents of Joyce and Salme, have been serving as missionaries since 1994. Both attended bible school before they were married in 1998 and worked together in Romania for several years. In the year 2001 they returned to Germany and took over the leadership of a church plant in Düren, Nordrhein-Westfalen. In 3½ years they laid the foundation of the church's structure and then gave the young church over to the current pastor.
In the last year, they decided that their future path lay with our missionary agency. They attended the missions school in Hamminkeln in October and became a part of the Globe family.
Olaf and Iby rejoice about going to Thailand. Both feel called to Chiang Mai, a metropolis of several million people in north Thailand. While there are currently only ca. 25,000 Christians in a country of about 70 million people, they see that the gospel can establish a foot hold there and they can plant a church.
Olaf and Iby are currently preparing themselves for their departure and would like to leave before the end of 2006. If you would like to stay informed or support them and their work you can find all of the necessary info on their website, www.thaichallenge.org (in German). | |
